Become a Puppet Master. . .

Registration is now open for Reductive Labs Puppet training. The next session is scheduled for June 2-6 in Portland, Oregon, USA. For Registration and Inquiries email us.

The program will be broken into a three day 'Basic Training', followed by two days of 'Advanced Topics'. Sessions will mix theory and practice, balancing lectures with hands-on exercises. (Each student must bring a laptop capable of virtualizing hosts for the lab portion. Contact for suggestions and details)

All classes will be taught by Puppet's author, Luke Kanies.

Course Description

Basic Training

This training is ideal for Puppet newcomers or sysadmins who want a Puppet jumpstart. Newer members at an organization already using Puppet, or experienced sysadmins wanting to bring Puppet into their team will get everything they need to deploy solutions.

Prerequisites: Attendees should have at least the equivalent experience of a junior Unix/Linux administrator.

Advanced Topics

Once a sysadmin has mastered daily Puppet usage, there are many opportunities for advanced techniques. Attendees should be familiar with all of the topics covered in the Introductory class, especially the Resource Abstraction Layer.

Prerequisites: A working knowledge of Puppet or attend the Basic Training.
